History
The Earl Ferrers is a Victorian era pub with a fascinating history. It was named after Laurence Shirley, the 4th Earl Ferrers, and the last “peer” to be hanged in England in 1760. The pub was built to serve the workers at the nearby Silk Mill (now Sainsburys), and was very much a village inn. In the 1970’s the pub had 3 bars – a saloon bar, a middle bar and a darts bar, and it even had its own darts team. The locals have told us plenty of stories about the former owner, Duncan, and how the basement was home to a recording studio! Today, we hope to honor The Earl Ferrer’s rich legacy of serving the community, and being the place to relax and have a good time.

Art
London-based artist Phyllida Barlow was invited to create a stunning site-specific ceiling for the Audley.
Renowned for her ability to incorporate elements from her surroundings, Barlow’s creative process was enriched by the concept of collages. This resulted in an art installation that harmoniously complemented the architectural vision of Luis Laplace.
What’s On
We love celebrating with the community, and The Audley will occasionally have live music, events and limited-edition menus. Keep an eye out for news and updates.
Mount st. Restaurant & Rooms
On the first floor of The Audley you will find Mount St. Restaurant, showcasing some extraordinary artist commissions – this modern London restaurant brings together food and drink, craftsmanship and culture.
Helmed by Executive Chef Jamie Shears, the menu draws inspiration from the capital’s culinary history with some traditional, albeit updated, London classics – such as the famed and theatrical Mount St. lobster pie.
Above Mount St. Restaurant, discover a collection of private rooms: four beautifully designed spaces each with its own story and available for private hire.
